Why we exist

Every Child Deserves to Feel at Home—In Both Homes
On a Mission to provide children’s beds to help create stable and comfortable bedrooms in a child’s second home to promote a sense of belonging and security in both homes, reducing feelings of instability

Creating Stability, One Room at a Time.
The Second Home Project provides free, brand-new beds, mattresses, and bedding essentials for children ages 3–17 in low-income households or families facing financial hardship. We help co-parents create safe, welcoming spaces so every child can feel secure, comfortable, and truly at home in both of their homes.

Bringing Rest to Children in Need
Every child deserves a cozy, secure place to sleep.
With your help, The Second Home Project gives children in Mecklenburg County more than just a bed, we give them a safe, stable place to rest and call home. Your support makes sure no child has to sleep on the floor, feel like a visitor, or go without comfort. Together, we can change the way a child sleeps, and the way they grow.
